Episode - #0255 (57:14)
In June, during World Gay Pride Week, 115 gay and lesbian couples got married in a mass ceremony in Toronto. One of the interfaith ministers was Yogi Akal. It marked the first time a Sikh minister has presided over a gay marriage.
Actor Johnny Cannizzaro is in the new Clint Eastwood directed musical Jersey Boys. He plays the street hustling Nick Devito, one of the members who went on to form the doo wop trio, The Varietones, the predecessors to Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons.
Author Russell Brooks continues to write his spy novel series. He's the author of Pandora's Succession and Unsavory Delicacies. And now the third book in that series is just out, called The Demeter Code.
This week's opening slate is presented by Adam Jones, director of Global Halifax Morning News. He also has a business that trains dogs in Edmonton. It makes them street smart. You can check out the website at 906dogs.ca.
