#0310: Theodore Bikel; Donna McGrane; & Sam Mak

The Stuph File Program

Featuring actor Theodore Bikel; Donna McGrane, owner of The Pleasant Valley Drive-In Theatre; & diversity trainer, Sam Mak

Remembering actor Theodore Bikel, who had an illustrious career as an actor, that spanned 75 years, conquering stage, film, literature and music. The Oscar nominated, Emmy winning actor was also the driving force behind the theatrical release of Theodore Bikel: In The Shoes Of Sholem Aleichem. And there is also his memoirs simply titled Theo: An Autobiography. We spoke to the actor, who recently passed away at the age of 91, only eight months ago and we honour his life by sharing that chat once again.

In its heyday, in the 50’s there were over 4,000 drive-in theatres across the United States. Today there are less than 400. A recent Entertainment Weekly magazine article featured a great story on one of the three remaining drive-ins in the State of Connecticut. We talk to Donna McGrane, who along with her husband Tim owns The Pleasant Valley Drive-In Theatre.

Sam Mak is an American of Muslim descent and an experienced diversity and multicultural trainer and facilitator. She’s on to talk about the benefits of an arranged marriage.

This week’s opening slate is presented by Montreal lawyer, Neil Drabkin, former Chief Of Staff to several cabinet ministers within the Conservative Government.
